OVERVIEW OF THE “ACK KITALE TOWERS” PROJECT
What is “ACK Kitale Towers” Project?
The ACK Kitale Towers is the vision of Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Kitale. The Ordinary Session of the Synod held in September 2021 resolved to construct an eight-storey office building block for ministry offices and income-generation for the Diocese through leasing. This vision was the flagship project of the “Silver Jubilee Celebrations” held throughout 2022 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Diocese of Kitale which was established on 1st July 1997. The Silver Jubilee was celebrated through Thanksgiving Service and various diocesan-wide activities that included, planting 20,000 trees, 25-km health walkathon, evangelism outreach (targeting 25 new members per local church), and recognizing 25 individuals and organizations who contributed significantly to the 25-year diocesan history.
What are the Benefits of the ACK Kitale Towers?
- Financially Secure and Stable Diocese. This project will fulfill our long-held desire for a financially stable and self-sustaining diocese by diversifying income streams, model financial sustainability for our parishes, and ensure adequate resources to fund diocesan ministries within the church and its outreach to the larger community.
- Enhance Church’s Capacity to Fund its Missions. Income from this project will be invested in local church’s mission activities and community outreach programmes as mandated to the church in the Gospel, like, scholarships for needy students, shelters for the homeless, food for the hungry, clothes for the naked, and other needy community cases.
- Good Financial Stewardship. This project offers the Diocese unique opportunity to model good stewardship through proper utilization of existing prime land in a strategic location at St. Luke’s Cathedral for the benefit of the church and the community.
- Church’s Impact to the Marketplace or Community. This project will move the church beyond its four walls into transforming the local marketplace, communities and organizations by offering convenient, affordable, and modern operational building spaces and services and employment. This project will promote ACK Kitale Diocese’s objective and mandate to participate in economic prosperity of our County and Nation.
- Adequate and Conducive Modern Diocesan Offices. The ACK Kitale Towers will provide the much needed, adequate office space for all diocesan departments. The diocesan staff will have offices equipped with modern amenities and conducive working environment.
In short, the overall benefit and impact of the ACK Kitale Towers will see improved diocesan financial status for a well-resourced and sustainable Diocese that effectively fulfills its mission mandate to build Christ’s kingdom in the world.
